Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship – September 11-17, 2017

Imagine watching the PGA Tour Champions’ very best players in person and inside the ropes, all while helping to make Dreams come true! You can this September. Come be part of the action!

If you volunteer at the Pacific Links Championship as a part of the Help Fill A Dream community, event organizers have confirmed that your Volunteer Package Fee ($49) will be donated back to Help Fill A Dream as the Official Charity of the event.

IMPORTANT – when you register, there will be a section called “Registration Questions” on the second page. Question #2 asks for your Affiliation, please indicate Help Fill A Dream here (see image below).

Volunteer with the Champions

Are you proud of your city? Do you want to promote Victoria? Hand out information and answer questions about the golf course, the Bear Mountain area and greater Victoria. Many spectators are tourists and travellers, interested to learn about our beautiful island.

As an Ambassador you will provide assistance and answer Championship related questions or direct spectators to particular points of interest throughout the grounds.

Have you always wanted to attend a golf tournament? As a Marshall you will be inside the ropes with the PGA Tour Champions as you assist every player through their round for the day.

You will perform crowd control along all eighteen holes, act as forecaddies alongside the fairways, locate and protect errant tee shots, help assure fair play and pace of play, provide security and a controlled environment for the players and spectators and ensure that the public is conducting themselves with proper golf etiquette.

Trackboard Display

Are you interested to learn more about golf? As a volunteer on Trackboard Display, you will work with a team to display the scores, updating them as the day goes on. Please note, you do NOT need prior golf experience for this position.

Display colour coded scores on large scoreboard, indicating par and above, birdies and better, 9 and 18 hole scores, and cumulative score relative to par.

Access Point ControlHelp Fill A Dream Volunteer

Want to get right behind the action? As an Access Point Control volunteer you’ll monitor access to restricted and secured areas on-site.

You’ll be responsible for controlling access and verifying credentials to certain restricted areas on-site, including the player services area, clubhouse, range area, restricted traffic and parking areas, and other secured areas. Experience as a security guard or in law enforcement is not required as volunteers will not be expected to encounter any physical disturbances.

AdmissionHelp Fill A Dream Volunteer

Here’s your chance to welcome people to the tournament. As an Admissions volunteer you’ll guide people in the right direction and welcome spectators to the Championship.

Volunteers will direct spectators to different areas of the golf course and answer general tournament questions. You will also be requested to distribute information to spectators, such as programs, journals, tee times, locations of concessions, etc.

The tournament runs from September 11th – 17th, 2017. When you volunteer at the Pacific Links Championship as part of the Help Fill A Dream community and your $49 Volunteer Package Fee will be donated to Help Fill A Dream as the event’s Official Charity.

Volunteers must commit to a minimum of 3 shifts (at most 6 hours per shift) during the Championship week, from September 11th to 17th. All volunteers will be given an orientation with training and support as needed prior to the Championship as well as specific committee meetings as required.

For more information regarding available volunteer positions contact the Volunteer Chair, Leslie Crawford.
