Dacian was born an Edmonton Oilers fan. The 11 year-old hockey player from Victoria has loved the team since his birth in Alberta’s capital city and last month, thanks to Help Fill a Dream, he got to see the Oilers in action – on and off the ice.
Dacian, who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy – a fatal muscle-wasting disease – travelled with is parents to Edmonton to watch two games and meet the players off the ice. He says that meeting some of the Oilers in person and visiting all of the sports stores in the West Edmonton Mall were the highlights of his trip.
When he’s not hobnobbing with NHL players, Dacian plays a little hockey himself. He is a forward for the South Ravens Hockey Club and excited to be travelling to his first tournament on the Mainland in April.
