Thank You Country Grocer
Another amazing season of giving will mean more Dreams for kids in our community
Every year Country Grocer runs a seasonal fundraising campaign with Help Fill A Dream as the beneficiaries. It is a huge amount of work for them, and we are so grateful for the time and passion that they put into it.
The Esquimalt Country Grocer store traditionally raises the most money out of all the stores each year. This year was no exception. It is a testament to the passion of the employees at the store who have embraced Help Fill A Dream and the generosity of their customers. Our hats are off to them!
This morning we had the very great pleasure of accepting a cheque for the 2019 seasonal campaign (which ran through November & December). Over $15,000 was raised from all 7 of their stores and many of their suppliers. The Dream bouquets from Eurosa Farms and the fresh Island grown Christmas trees from Wintergreen Christmas Tree Farm are always hits. There was also a ‘Breakfast with Santa’ in both Nanaimo and Victoria, providing a fun and popular way for the whole family to be involved in fundraising for Help Fill A Dream.
On hand to accept the cheque for Help Fill A Dream was sports Dream kid Riley, who travelled to Seattle to see his favourite baseball team the Toronto Blue Jays play in August and then to Vancouver in December to see the Canucks play. His Vancouver weekend came complete with a Tesla for the family to drive, and the Canucks even won!
2019 was the 8th year for the Country Grocer campaign which has raised over $130,000 since it started. Of course no Dream celebration would be complete without a cake from Country Grocer, which Riley helped serve to customers in the Esquimalt store.
Thank You Country Grocer for this phenomenal community support.
