Community Fundraising – The Ripple Effect

Country Grocer are huge supporters of Help Fill A Dream. Throughout the year they make donations from in-store promotions, and support us with pancake breakfasts, Superhero Calendar sales and community barbeques. We were honoured to be invited to appear in Country Grocer’s latest TV commercial for CHEK TV. It’s all about the ripple effect of community giving, showing how a simple purchase of a hotdog at a BBQ can lead to a child getting support for a life-threatening health condition. The commercial features Andrei, a fundraising superstar in his own right. He does not take the opportunities he has been given for granted. Andrei wants to make a difference, he wants to give back. Andrei is such a great role model and he has started a movement with other Dream kids to raise money to make more Dreams come true. So far this year we have six different past Dream recipients who are engaged in a variety of fundraising activities to help make more Dreams come true. The youngest is four!   The commercial also features Madelaine, plus you’ll see a few familiar Help Fill A Dream staff and volunteer faces! Thanks Country Grocer for being such a great community partner!

 

The process of filming a commercial is always fun. It is amazing to see how much work goes into setting up a shot and how many takes are sometimes required to get it right. And the waiting, lots of waiting! Our friends at CHEK have supported us throughout the years and the expertise that they bring to this process makes it all go smoothly.
